Entries for Lora Innes’ FanArt Palooza 2011 ;)

Hi!

So this post is a bit different…it’s a few poems I wrote for The Dreamer a webcomic I read by Lora Innes.  These are my entries for FanArt Palooza 2011!  Hope you enjoy them 😉

To A.W. From B.W.

By Half Moon

My life I know,

But in truth,

I know yours too.

I’ve seen your heart,

Worn proudly on your sleeve.

I’ve seen your soul,

When you think of family.

One life I know,

Another I long for.

I struggle to recall,

The details now.

The flashes that come,

Are more vivid than anything,

I may ever know.

I know how I feel,

I must know you are real.

I would pay,

Any price,

For just one moment,

To know you truly live.

I know this cannot be,

Merely a Dream.

It is far to clear,

To be a vision,

Of things only my mind may see.

So why can’t you be real?

Logic bids me think.

Why can’t this be true?

As true as pen and ink.

Lest I be proven mistaken,

Though I know,

That will be the day,

When I feel my heart,

Is forlorn,

And breaking…

I have a grip now,

On a line so thin and so bare,

I refuse to let go,

As long as you aren’t standing there.

Hurry up now,

You know who you are.

Hurry up now,

The drop is very far.

I have a grip,

It’s slipping fast.

Hurry up now,

Catch me quick,

Or I may slip,

And lose our Past.

Forgotten Hero

By Half Moon

What’s thy name,

Forgotten Hero?

Where’s thy fame,

Fallen Allie?

Have we ever sung thy praise?

Will we ever know thy days?

T’is sad at best,

When those for whom,

Thou hast gone to rest,

Cannot recall,

A simple thing,

As simple,

As a name.

If thou art forgotten,

Then who lies with thee?

What other names,

What other fames,

Have slipped away?

Will we ever have the evidence?

Who will prove,

That thou were real,

Thy story true,

Will we ever know,

There really was a you?

Forgotten Hero…

Fallen Allie…

Name you,

That I would.

Know you,

If only I could.

Why?

By Half Moon

Why does the thing I love,

Torture me so?

Why do the dreams,

I crave the day long,

Cause me such pain?

Not when I sleep.

No! Sleep brings me peace!

For I see Him again…

The most wonderful man.

Why can’t you be alive?

Why do I see you?

Why must you seem so real?

Your eyes,

I see,

Your voice,

I hear,

Your hand in mine

I feel!

Why?

I ask simply,

Why must you seem so real,

So alive?

I know,

When next I open my eyes,

Once again,

You’ll be gone,

From my sight.

Though never from my mind,

Until the next night.

Dear dreams,

Why must you be,

So unkind?

That’s all the poems!!!!

Thanks for reading,

Morgana

Happy New Years (Eve)!!!!!!!

Hey everyone!

So, in honor of New Years Eve being Jacks birthday, I’m finally posting another profile! I know, don’t faint.  Here goes…

Jackson Halloway

Full Name: Jackson Reuben Halloway

Age: Physically: 22             In Reality: 112

Height: 6’2”

Favorite Book: He’ll never admit it, but he loves Jane Eyre.

Favorite Song: Jack’s Lament – Danny Elfman.

Favorite Place: A little meadow in a park, almost completely surrounded by trees, with just one small way to get in; if you know where to look.

Quote: “Betting?  You, who have NEVER bet on ANYTHING her whole life, were betting on when I’d fall for a girl?!”

Nickname for Ruby: Half Moon (for those of you who know me…yes, this is part of where it comes from…).

Name only Ruby can call him: Night

Species: Vampire.

Birthday: 12/31/1899

Background: Jackson was the first-born of a rather poor farming family.  He lived in South Carolina and it wasn’t until he was five that the farm really started making money.  Jack was home schooled, and helped with things around the farm.  His life was normal, when he was seven his parents had another child, and Jack, uh, came to terms with being big brother to a girl.

His little sisters name was Mary, and once she got old enough to follow Jack around, she started to grow on him.  By the time Jack was thirteen he and Mary were thick as thieves…and by fifteen, war had broken out.

Jacks father enlisted and was soon sent overseas.  This left Jack as head of the house.  He did the best he could for his mother and sister, and the farm survived.  When he turned eighteen Jack decided to join his father in the army.

Jack served for five short months, and then received a bullet to his left shoulder.  The wound left his whole left arm lame.

Jack returned home, and continued to do the best he could for his family.  He took a job doing smaller tasks at the local car factory, since he could no longer do much on the farm.  Everything he did took up all of his time, which meant he had to put his education on hold until the war ended in 1918.

Jack kept working for a couple more years, to save money for college, and help his father adjust back to a normal life.

With the war over, and his father home in one piece, Jack left for college in North Carolina.  His intention was to become a writer, since he couldn’t do much else, and because he’d always held a love for the written word.

He was about to start his freshman year when he was bitten.  He had been walking along the street, enjoying some fresh air when someone bumped into him.  It turned out to be a young lady, who Jack helped to her feet.  Then, without even saying thanks, she turned and left.  Jack was about to walk away when he put his hand in his pocket, and found his wallet missing.

Of course, he turned and ran after the girl.  He chased her into a dark ally, and reached a dead end.  The girl was nowhere to be found.  Jack heard a giggle from behind, turned, and blacked out.  When he woke up, he was a vampire.

He was repulsed with himself, he secluded himself from humanity, until he was nearly dead of thirst.  One night, when he was loosing control, he broke into a butcher shop because he smelled the blood.  When he came to his senses he realized he was eating raw meat, the same way he would have eaten a rare steak as a human.  This new knowledge, that he could feed on raw meat, instead of taking a life made him feel stronger.

Jack slowly discovered his new life was not as terrible as he thought.  For one thing, he regained full use of his left arm and hand, and for another, his intensified sight and hearing let him into a whole new world.  One with unlimited inspiration, unlimited everything.  (that’s all I’m going to say here, the rest would just be spoilers… O:D)

BFF: Cindy.

GF: Ruby.

Favorite thing(s) to do: Hang out with my friends and family.  Write music, play the piano, and write poetry.

See you guys tomorrow with another surprise!
